Angkor Wat - Aerial

This photo was taken from our helium-inflated balloon at 70 meter in the sky, from an approximate distance of 1 km. This photo allows the viewer to appreciate the volume of the compound and its relation to nature and water. At the peak of the empire, some 1 million souls were living there. This view can be appreciated from the Sokha Balloon Ride located near by.

Ta Phrom Temple

One of the most amazing site, where nature had came back in force. The archeologists have left this temple as they found it, to inspire the visitors. Indeed, according to the books, most of the temples were found in this state. Again, you will apreciate the fact that all you see on this image is the temple...and not the tourists.

Ta Phrom (tree)

Here is another angle with a strong focus on the tree. This picture illustrates perfectly the force of nature, as nothing, not even large blocks of stones will go in its way.

The harvest

A few meters away from the temples, Cambodian continue to live their daily routine, among which the rice harvest. The Khmer people have been growing rice for thousands of years and the continue doing so with the most simple equipment and gestures.

Floating Villages

You may, or should, pay a visit to the nearby floating village. You will understand how can man live with (and not against) its environment. These fishermen and their families have settled their camp on the surface of the water, rising with the tides and the season and making the best out of this. You will find a police station, a petrol station, schools, shops, hairdressers and so forth on small boats. A floating village...
